Mr. Velez: A 23-year old New Yorker who has felt motivated in his adolescence and early adulthood by his half-Colombian heritage. I studied Latin America in college, wrote my thesis on coffee in Colombia, and taught Spanish before finally diving into things and joining the Jesuit Volunteers International in Peru.
